Watch Marshall Vian Summers speak during the 2017 Messenger’s Vigil, Closing Broadcast, January 28, 2017.
It’s important in service that you give what the situation wants from you and not what you want to give. People have come here wanting to give what they thought was their gift and at that time we didn’t need that from them. We needed something else from them, and they may have felt put off or unappreciated as a result. So, real service is knowing what the situation or the people need from you and serving at that level. Then there’s no personality involved. So that’s very important to remember. If you feel that need to give, then do not try to control the nature of the giving.
